Many people have their fan-pages on Facebook. Here we are talking about fan-pages that are owned by people on whose name they have been made or are dedicated.
Recently, some Facebook users were contacted by Facebook and asked whether they would like to merge their “fan-pages” with their personal pages. This would turn their “fans” into “subscribers.” Here, the logic given by Facebook was that user would only have to post all his/her content in one place. Also, the user could determine which content was “public,” (i.e., subscribers, the world, etc.,) and which he/she would like to keep only for his/her “friends.”
