DISCLAIMER: The writer has taken every precaution to confirm the accuracy of facts presented in the article(s). But the writer does not hold responsibility if any fact turns out to be inaccurate.

I love action movies. And when action movies have South Indian action, it is something that always fascinates me. I do not know Telugu language and watch them with English sub-titles. I recently watched the movie Badrinath and loved the action so much that I decided to review this movie.

Movie: Badrinath (2011)

Language: Telugu

Cast: Allu Arjun, Tamanna Bhatia, Prakash Raj, Kelly Dorjee, Ashwini Kalsekar, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu

Genre: Action

My personal rating: *** (3 Stars)

This is an exciting story and has great music also.

The jihadi attacks on various Hindu temples are increasing in India. Thus, many priests have decided to recruit some warriors in order to protect the temples.

Bheeshm Narayan (Prakash Raj) is a saint who trains all volunteers to protect the temple. One day, he sees a boy called Badri and decides to train him along with other boys in all ancient Indian martial arts.

Years later, Badri (Allu Arjun) grows up and becomes an adult. The temple to be protected that has been alloted to him as a responsibility is Badrinath temple.

Alakananda (Tamanna Bhatia) is an atheist. She had witnessed a tragedy in her childhood. She blamed God for that tragedy. Her maternal grandfather has brought her to Badrinath in order awaken her faith in God. Her maternal grandfather told Badri that she is in danger. Sarkar (Kelly Dorjee), a dreaded Don, is trying to force her marriage with his son. On the request of her maternal Grandfather, Badri helps Alaknanda to gradually believe in God's existence.

Alakananda loves Badri. However, she has not told that to Badri. Badri is unaware of Alakananda's feelings. On her request, he helps her to do some religious ceremonies of Badrinath temple. These religious ceremonies will bring good luck in Alakananda's life and it will get her married to the man she loves.

Sarkar and his men come to Badrinath. They want to abduct Alakananda. Although Badri manages to save her, he is injured and he needs medication. Meanwhile Bhishma Narayan is shocked upon seeing Alakananda's affectionate behaviour towards Badri. He wants to make Badri his successor. According to the rules of monastery, the chief trainer of warriors must remain unmarried throughout his life.

Alakananda leaves for home after receiving assurance from Badri that he will ensure her wedding with the man she loves. Her maternal grandfather goes with her.

In Bellary, Sarkar kills Alakananda's maternal grandfather and abducts her.

Badri has promised Alakananda that he would bring her back to Badrinath Temple for success in her love.

Badri goes to Bellary to rescue Alakananda from the clutches of Sarkar, who is planning to fix the marriage. Badri aims to escort Alaknanda back to the Holy Shrine. He fights with all the goons and escorts her to Badrinath. Sarkar vows revenge on Badri as Sarkar's son is severely hurt in the process by Badri. Subsequently Sarkar with his goons, goes to Badrinath. He destroys Bheeshm Narayan's Ashram.

What will happen when Badri meets Sarkar for a final showdown? And what will happen when he gets shocked on the revelation that he is the man that Alakananda loves? You must watch the movie to find out.

This movie has some elements of comedy and comic relief here tickles your funny bone when Badri meets Baaty Baba (Brahmanandam), a conman who claims to be a saint alive for centuries.

All songs in this movie are Melodious. "Omakareshwari" is the only song which is a part of narrative. Song "In The Night" is in English. Except "Omkareshwari", all the songs are imaginations of Alakananda whenever she imagines herself romancing Badri. Excpet Omkareshwari and Nath Nath, Allu Arjun appears in short hair, contrary to the hair style he has in the entire movie.

Action sequences are awesome in this movie. In many scenes, Allu Arjun has been depicted as a one-man army, a trend which is not new in India. There is a scene where Jihadis attacked Amarnath temple and killed some devotees. Holding many devotees as hostage, they demanded the release of their leader. Their leader was freed but Badri fought and killed all the terrorists, including the leader thus saving both the temple and the devotees.

This movie deserves one viewing.
